How To Install OpenCV-Python in Fedora

Hello Everyone,In this tutorial we will learn to setup OpenCV-Python in  Fedora operating system. We have tested this tutorial in Fedora 18 (64-bit) and Fedora 19 (32-bit). Basically, There are two ways to install OpenCV-Python in Fedora but here we will install it using relatively easy method.

1) Install  OpenCV-Python from Pre-built Binaries

Install all packages with the command blow in terminal.

$ yum install numpy opencv*

Now, it’s time to test whether it has been installed properly or not. Open Python IDLE (or IPython) and type the codes in Python terminal.

>>> import cv2
>>> print cv2.__version__

If there are no errors then  OpenCV-Pythons is installed properly.

Arithmetic operators in Python With Example

Generally, Arithmetic operators are used to perform mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, divison and more.

+ Addition a + b = 10
Subtraction a – b = -10
* Multiplication a * b = 20
/ Division b / a = 10
% Modulus (Divides and returns remainder) b % a = 0
** Exponent 10 ** 3
Result: 1000
// Floor Division (Division that results into whole number adjusted to the left in the number line. The result of this division is the integral part of the result) >>> 10 // 3
3 >>> 10.0 // 3
3.0 >>>

Let’s take an example, b=10,c =0

a = 21
b = 10
c = 0

c = a + b
print “Result of c is “, c

c = a – b
print “Result of c is “, c

c = a * b
print “Result of c is “, c

c = a / b
print “Result of c is “, c

c = a % b
print “Result of c is “, c

a = 2
b = 3
c = a**b
print “Result of c is “, c

a = 10
b = 5
c = a//b
print “Result of c is “, c

Produces the following result −

Result of c is 31
Result of c is 11
Result of c is 210
Result of c is 2
Result of c is 1

How to Install Nginx Latest Version on Ubuntu.

In this tutorial, we’re going to learn how to install Nginx latest version on Ubuntu. There are many  web server available in the market and Nginx is one of the popular webserver being used these days.

Good news is that Nginx package is availale by default in ubuntu’s repositories. In order to install latest version of Nginx, you need to add the official Nginx repository.

Open up your sources.list file by typing following command:

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list 

Now, press CTRL+W then CTRL+V to jump to the end of the file. After this, append the following two lines at the end of the file.

deb http://nginx.org/packages/mainline/ubuntu/ xenial nginx
deb-src http://nginx.org/packages/mainline/ubuntu/ xenial nginx 

Now, import Nginx public key using the commands below.

wget http://nginx.org/keys/nginx_signing.key

sudo apt-key add nginx_signing.key 

Steps To Install Nginx:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nginx

Note: You should remove Nginx if you have installed it from Ubuntu software repository before instlling it.

sudo apt remove nginx nginx-common nginx-full nginx-core

Now after installing the Nginx, you need to unmask nginx.service file using the command below.

sudo systemctl unmask nginx

Now start Nginx.

sudo systemctl start nginx

 

How To Install Node.js In Ubuntu.

Node.js® is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine. It is mostly used for developing server side application. Node is designed to build scalable network applications. In this post, we will learn to install Node.js In Ubuntu.

Run the following command.

sudo apt-get install nodejs

This will install all the necessary packages for Node.js and now we need to install node package manager.

sudo apt-get install npm

 After all above steps, You need to create a symbolic link to the Node.js folder.

At last,  run the Node –v command and npm –v to see the installed Node and it’s version

Now, you can start buidling apps 🙂

Install IntelliJ IDEA In Ubuntu 16.04, 17.04

Intellij IDEA is one of the most popular IDE.  Today we will talk about how to install Intellij IDEA in Ubuntu operating system. IntelliJ IDEA is a Java integrated development environment (IDE) developed by jetbrain or IntelliJ.

Steps To Install IntelliJ IDEA On Ubuntu Linux

Method 1

Before installing Intellij, you have to make sure that you have Ubuntu Make installed in your system. And even if you haven’t installed, you can install it by using following command.

sudo apt install ubuntu-make
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ubuntu-make
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-make

Now install IntelliJ IDEA Community edition by using below command:

umake ide idea

To install the IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate edition:

umake ide idea-ultimate

Steps To Uninstall  IntelliJ From your Ubuntu.

umake -r ide idea
umake -r ide idea-ultimate

 

 

Method 2

Install  IntelliJ using PPA.( This method is valid for all Linux distributions based on Ubuntu)

Open Terminal and type the below command.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mmk2410/intellij-idea-community
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install intellij-idea-community

Only Community version is available via this PPA.

To remove IntelliJ installed from the above PPA:

sudo apt-get remove intellij-idea-community
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:mmk2410/intellij-idea-community
